Senior Professor Nandani de Silva has successfully completed an assignment she had undertaken for the University Grants Commission for the implementation of a national policy decision to enable university entrants who had been given loans to buy laptops at 0% interest to strengthen their English Language and IT Skills through online courses. Prof. Nandani de Silva was the Chairperson of the Special Task Force Committee appointed to see this national project through and gave leadership to the university academics involved in developing the courses for online delivery to the 2015/2016 batch of university entrants (approx. 26,000) who had gained entry through the UGC to Universities island wide.
