General Sir John Kotelawala Defense University medical team achieved a remarkable third place at the ASN Inter-University Neurology Quiz 2024, held at the Courtyard by Marriott on 03rd of August 2024. Organized by the Association of Sri Lankan Neurologists, the event was participated by 12 medical faculties across Sri Lanka.

The quiz featured 40 challenging questions, testing participants’ knowledge in neurology. KDU’s team, comprised of O/C CL Raigamage, D/S NS Jayawardena, O/C OV Wickramaarachchi, D/S FFA Hamid, and TUO KG Sathiamoorthie demonstrated exceptional skill and determination throughout the competition. The final round proved particularly intense, as KDU tied with the University of Ruhuna, each team scoring 35 points. The tie-breaker round, consisting of three critical questions, determined the ultimate rankings, where KDU successfully answered all three questions, securing third place and surpassing the University of Ruhuna.

The event highlighted the academic excellence and competitive spirit of medical students across the nation. KDU’s achievement was celebrated by their peers and faculty, underscoring the university’s growing prominence in the medical field.
