Department of Para clinical Sciences
Department of Para clinical Sciences undertakes teaching in 3rd MBBS Part I and II subjects; Microbiology, Parasitology, Pharmacology, Pathology, Forensic Medicine, Public Health and Family Medicine. These subjects provide essential complementary knowledge for clinical sciences and facilitate rational decision making as a clinician and a community physician. This department is responsible for teaching the medical students from 4th semester to 7th semester. Teaching learning activities include lectures, tutorials, practicals, group research project and community based teaching and distance learning through LMS, moodle and other platforms. The students sit for 3rd MBBS examination during this period which consist of two stages, stage one at the end of the 5th semester (Microbiology and Parasitology) and stage two at the end of the 7th semester (other subjects). In addition to teaching activities, the departmental staff is involved in many research projects, mainly in the areas of toxicology, pathology, parasitology, clinical genetics, immunology, epidemiology, medical education, behavioural and social sciences, health systems, clinical medicine, microbiology and pharmacology.
