The launch of the Sri Lanka Journal of Medical Sciences, the official journal of the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences and University Hospital Kotelwala Defence University, was marked by a significant moment when the first copy was ceremonially handed over to the Vice-Chancellor, Radm HDU Dammika Kumara, VSV, USP, psc. Co-editors Professor Namal Wijesinghe and Professor Thamasi Makuloluwa took great pride in presenting the inaugural issue, symbolising a collaborative effort and beginning a new chapter in academic scholarship. The event was attended by an editorial board, editorial manager and esteemed faculty members, reflecting the new publication’s importance and anticipation.
